PROMISE KIDS

Child Sponsorship

La Promesa Honduras’ child sponsorship program represents our commitment to family-based care and to the belief that every child belongs in a safe home and loving family. Promise Kids experience competent and compassionate care through trauma recovery and counseling services, placement in treatment foster care, youth advancement programs, academic support, and family preservation and strengthening services.

Youth Advancement

La Promesa Honduras’ commitment to developing leaders begins with investing in today’s youth.  Youth Advancement serves a cohort of young people, providing discipleship, mentoring, and life skills development.  Youth gain valuable work experience through internship opportunities and the chance to gain mastery of practical adult skill, such as budgeting, money management, interviewing for a job, and communicating effectively and professionally.

Camps and Fun Days

The language of children is play!  La Promesa Honduras offers children in foster care and children with disabilities the opportunity to attend specialized camps and fun days led by trained staff members and volunteers.  Camps and Fun Days are designed for children to experience healthy connection, build self-esteem, and most of all – HAVE FUN!

Happy Hands Christian School for Deaf Children

Happy Hands (Manos Felices) Christian School for Deaf Children holds a special place in our hearts and ministry.  The school was founded in 2003 by Christy Owen, who continues to advocate for and support the success of the students, faculty, and administration of the school she loves dearly. La Promesa Honduras invests both financially and practically in the everyday life of the school.

Hope at Home

La Promesa has an equal commitment to pouring love into the children of missionaries living and serving in Honduras. Amid the demands of ministry life in a foreign country, it’s sadly all too common for missionary kids to feel forgotten and neglected. Hope at Home ensures missionary kids receive the love, attention, care, emotional support, and spiritual guidance they need while serving on the foreign mission field. Hope at Home includes fun outdoor activities that allow missionary kids to experience the culture they’re living in, and to spend quality time with family members and others outside of ministry activities.
